Intensive Russian Strikes Disrupt Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and applying penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults overnight. A minor died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

He said utility staff and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
